Bahrain, officially the Kingdom of Bahrain, is a small island country and an archipelago situated near the western shores of the Persian Gulf with Bahrain Island as the largest island. West of Bahrain lies Saudi Arabia and is connected to Bahrain by the King Fahd Causeway. To the north lies Iran lies, across the Gulf and to the southeast across the Gulf of Bahrain is the peninsula of Qatar.
