The Hundred Islands National Park is located in Alaminos City, Pangasinan, about 250 kms from Metro Manila. The islands, believed to be about two million years old and mainly compose of more than a hundred islets, are scattered along Lingayen Gulf and cover an area of 18.44 square kilometres (1, 884hectares or 4,557 acres). It was established as National Park on January 18, 1940 under Proclamation No. 667 issued by the late President Manuel L. Quezon making it the first national park in the Philippines.
