POSTCARD: Saskatchewan is a landlocked Canadian province in Western Canada that borders Alberta, Northwest Territories, Manitoba, Nunavut and the US states of Montana and North Dakota. Regina is the provincial capital and the home to the Royal Saskatchewan Museum, with exhibits on natural history and the people of Canada’s First Nations. Saskatoon is the province’s largest city. 

Saskatchewan has an estimated population of almost 1.2 million mostly living in southern prairie half of the province, while the northern boreal half is mostly forested and sparsely populated. The province has a total area of 651,900 square kilometers (251,700 sq mi), nearly 10 percent of which is fresh water - mostly of rivers, reservoirs, and the province's 100,000 lakes.
