POSTCARD: Kiyomizu-dera (清水寺) or Otowa-san Kiyomizu-dera (音羽山清水寺) is a Buddhist temple in Higashiyama-ku, Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture and part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto (Kyoto, Uji and Otsu Cities), a 1994 UNESCO World Heritage site. It was also the 21 finalists for the New Seven Wonders of the World in 2017. The temple was founded in 778 AD by Sakanoue no Tamuramaro and reconstructed by Tokugawa Iemitsu in 1633. Kiyomizudera literally means "Pure Water Temple." 

STAMPS: (1) 1997 -1998 definitive issue stamp in Insects and Flowers category featuring Honey Bee (Apis mellifera ssp.) & Chinese Milk Vetch (Astragalus sinicus) at ¥ 20.00, and (2) 2006 Flora (flowers) stamp showing Flowers in Chugoku issued in 2006 at 50 JPY.
