POSTCARD: The Confucius Temple of Kaohsiung located near Lotus Lake, Zuoying District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is the largest Confucian temple in Taiwan and dedicated to the memory of Confucius.
The original temple was constructed 1684 and renovated during the Qing Dynasty. The new temple constructed in 1976 now on the northwest corner of Lotus Lake (Pond) was based on the Liu Song dynasty architecture as well as the design of the Qufu Temple of Confucius.
